Week two: Day 1
I'm calling this one "Mona Lisa Bob" because it reminds Doug of that painting.
Today went by super fast and I found that painting two full paintings in a classroom setting to be not as difficult as I had imagined.
Without ceremony, I'll just get straight to today's paintings.
I'm off to walk along the beach and take in the fresh air!
See you tomorrow.

.....and this is the way I feel about them....
I'm not taking myself too seriously, and it was a successful day in the respect that I learned a great deal, however,...one of these paintings I want to take and use for target practice!
...perhaps a shotgun, the prospect makes me absolutely giddy.
Look at all these happy little trees. So I've been struggling a bit with my trees using the new to me, but proper, method of fan brush trees. I use to love my trees before I came to certs, but I've been doing them all wrong. Practically everyday Eddie has spent time with me on trying to get them right.
He must have thought I was a moron all this time!
Well today, he watched me and said my technique and form was correct, but my trees were not happy, in fact they were crappy little trees.

He picked up my fan brush and proceeded to make trees and they weren't working for him either. Turns out I have been using a faulty fan brush all this time.
Which in retrospect makes total sense, because on TV Bob takes his fan brush and says, "You want to wiggle it through the paint, you want a nice chiseled edge like so." Then the camera zooms in to show a fan brush held perpendicular to the screen, and it is indeed chiseled, straight as runway.
Well, mine has NEVER looked liked that.
Eddie quickly remedied my problem and we got to practicing....the right way....with a proper fan brush!
Hence the beautiful happy palette!

Stupid fan brush! I'm glad you figured it all out.
