Week two: Day 4
Gave a new look to a classic Bob Photo on this t-shirt!
So today we really shook things up! The class was set up a little differently which was the first clue that things were going to be non-standard.
I don't want to spoil Doug and Eddie's fun and hard work by detailing every thing they do every day, but I will say that I am very proud of myself today.
A huge and nerve-racking challenge was presented and I overcame!
This picture is all I'll say about that!
Nevermind the horrible painting, at this stage in the game, that is beside the point.
So nobody would ever guess, but I'm a bit of a nerd. Wait what???? You already knew that?
Okay, so I guess it's obvious.
Anyhow, before I came to CRI training I researched and gleaned every bit of information I could find about what to expect.
I like to be ultra prepared for EVERY eventuality.
I don't know about you, but the whole thing seems a bit shrouded in mystery.
I emailed the company and asked if I could get a list of the paintings we would be working on in advance.
Here is the reply I received.
Fair enough right? This is why I have not shared the titles of my paintings, even though with a little research you could look them up.
It's hard to keep things under wrap in this era of social media, but there is something be said for the element of surprise.
In retrospect, I'm glad I didn't pursue this knowledge beforehand, because for me I think it would have hindered my learning more than helped.
...and I am not the only person who likes to be ultra prepared.
I was asked these questions today.
These are the same questions I asked other CRI's.
So here are the answers, at the beginning of the week, yes we are given an itinerary for that week. You can expect your days to run roughly from 9am to 5pm.
Depending on the classroom progress, days may run slightly shorter or longer.
Some days, like today, are surprises.
But it's all good!
My best advice to future CRI hopefuls is to come with an open mind and a positive outlook. Try to leave your fears and insecurities at home.
Do not come with the attitude that you already know everything (even if you are genuinely accomplished).
Just listen, do, and have fun each day!
Lol, now I'm only nearly two thirds of the way done, so I cannot speak for next week but I'll take my own advice and trust Bob's training program that has been successfully pumping out teachers for thirty something years.
Chat at ya tomorrow!
